Where is the heat transfer?

Carefully examine the picture below:

Where is the heat transfer in the image? What is the heat source? Where does it transfer its energy to? Through which heat transfer process? Where does the heat go next? Through which heat transfer process? Explain!

The heat transfer in this image is from the burner or coil to the pot of water. The heat source is the fire from the burner or coil. The heat transfer process this is going through is conduction because it is not getting direct contact with the pot of water. The heat goes to the bottom of the ot to the water molecules and then the water molecules go to other water molcules.

  2. The heat transfer is from the stove to the pot.The stove is the heat source. The heat transfer by conduction. The stove to the pot and the heat from the pot transfers to the water. It is by conduction because the stove is touching the pot and the pot is touching the water.

  3. The heat is transfering from the stove to the pot. Therefore, the stove is the heat source. The stove is passing the heat along from the stove to the pot and finally into the water.
